Read to the end: step 3 is the one almost everyone gets wrong

The Cinnamon in That Juice Does the Heavy Lifting. Most Americans Are Using the Wrong One.
I'm 62. You asked for more remedies like that blueberry juice, so here's the part the video didn't have time for: the 3-step morning ritual, which cinnamon to use, and the mistake that turns a daily habit into a daily risk.
- Mother Mieko
That juice got shared for inflammation and the liver. But the real reason cinnamon earns its spot in the glass is something else: how your body handles sugar.
The number creeps up a little at every checkup. The 3 p.m. crash hits like clockwork. The sugar cravings show up two hours after you eat. And somebody tells you to "watch your sugar" like you haven't been doing exactly that for years.
Here's what almost nobody explains: your body is probably still making insulin. Your cells just stopped listening to it. That's insulin resistance. The sugar knocks, the door stays shut, and it keeps circulating in your blood.
Cinnamon got famous for exactly this. At the U.S. Department of Agriculture, researcher Dr. Richard Anderson was testing everyday foods for their effect on insulin, and one of the best results came from, of all things, apple pie. It wasn't the apples. It was the cinnamon.
But cinnamon only earns its place if it's the right kind, in the right amount, every day. Get the amount wrong and you're sprinkling hope on your coffee. Get the kind wrong and it can work against you. Here's the whole ritual, in order:
1 · THE JUICE2 · THE WALK3 · THE RIGHT CINNAMON
18–29%lower fasting blood sugar after 40 days of daily cinnamon*
1 tspof store-bought cassia can pass the daily coumarin limit for a 132-lb adult**
3steps. Skip one and it's just seasoning
*Khan et al., Diabetes Care, 2003: adults with type 2 diabetes taking 1 to 6 g a day · **based on the 0.1 mg/kg tolerable daily intake set by European food-safety authorities
Tip: tap each step to check it off as you go.
Why the Cinnamon Thing Hasn't Worked for You
The jar in your cabinet. If the label just says "cinnamon," it's almost certainly cassia: a cheaper, thicker bark, not true Ceylon. Cassia is loaded with coumarin, a compound that can stress the liver when you take it every day. Coumarin isn't even allowed as an added flavoring in U.S. food. The juice that's supposed to "clean your liver" could be doing the opposite.
A sprinkle in your coffee. The study above used 1 to 6 grams a day. A sprinkle is a fraction of a gram. That's seasoning, not a routine.
Cheap cinnamon capsules. The word "cinnamon" on a bottle doesn't have to tell you which species is inside. Plenty of people who say "I tried cinnamon and nothing happened" were taking cassia and never knew it.
Cutting sugar and white-knuckling it. Diet matters. But if your cells aren't answering insulin, you can control every bite and still watch the number creep. That was never a fair fight.
Waiting for the next checkup. Every three months you hope. Every three months it's "let's keep an eye on it." Hoping isn't a plan.
The 3-Step Morning Ritual, In Order
1
SLOW THE SPIKE
The Blueberry Juice
5 minutes · with breakfast
Add 1 cup of blueberries, fresh or frozen, to a blender. The video uses two cups; if you watch your sugar, one is plenty
Squeeze in the juice of half a lime and add a glass of water
Add ¼ teaspoon of Ceylon cinnamon. If your jar only says "cinnamon," keep it to a pinch
Blend until smooth and drink it with breakfast, not on its own as a snack
Why: blending, not juicing, keeps the fiber, and fiber slows how fast the sugar hits your blood. Blueberries bring anthocyanins, the deep-blue compounds researchers study for blood sugar and inflammation. The lime adds flavor without adding sugar. And about that full teaspoon of cinnamon in the video: with store-bought cassia, a teaspoon every single day is exactly the coumarin problem. Start small.
2
BURN IT OFF
The 10-Minute Walk
10 minutes · right after your biggest meal
Put your shoes on within 15 minutes of finishing your biggest meal
Walk at an easy pace: around the block, or even around the house
Ten minutes is enough. Every day beats once in a while
Why: when your muscles move, they pull sugar out of your blood without needing as much insulin. A 2022 review of studies found that even a few minutes of light walking after a meal lowered the blood sugar spike compared with sitting down. It's not exercise. It's timing.
3
OPEN THE DOOR
The Right Cinnamon, Every Day
every morning · 30 seconds
THE STEP ALMOST EVERYONE GETS WRONG
Type: Ceylon (Cinnamomum verum), the "true cinnamon." Never plain "cinnamon" of unknown species
Amount: the same every day. The research used grams, not a pinch
The catch: with powder, that means spoonfuls every morning of a spice you can't verify at the store
Ceylon vs. cassia: same name on the jar, not the same plant.
Why: this is where almost everyone slips. Cassia is cheap, so it's what fills the shelves and most capsules. Ceylon grows in a small region of Sri Lanka and costs more, so jars are rarely labeled clearly and almost impossible to verify. And even with real Ceylon powder, you'd be measuring spoonfuls every single morning to get anywhere near what was studied. That's why I don't leave step 3 to a grocery-store jar: see what I use ↓
Why These Three Work Together
The juice slows how fast the sugar arrives. The walk gives it somewhere to go. The right cinnamon, every day, supports the part nobody sees: your cells actually answering insulin. Skip step 3 and you're managing the spike, not the reason it keeps happening. That's why the jar in your cabinet "did nothing," and why a walk alone only takes you so far. Not one habit. Three, in order.
Your First 7 Days, and After
Days 1–3
The 3 p.m. slump hits softer. You notice you're not hunting for something sweet an hour after lunch.
Day 7
The juice and the walk feel automatic. The cravings between meals get quieter.
Weeks 2–3
Steadier energy through the afternoon. Many people tell me they stopped needing that second cup of coffee.
Week 4 and beyond
The ritual is just your morning now. Keep your checkups: that's where you and your doctor see the real numbers.
What people describe when they stay consistent. Individual experiences vary. Not a substitute for medical care.
What it looks like when your energy stops crashing: you stay awake through the afternoon without a second coffee. You finish lunch and don't start negotiating with the cookie jar. You play with the grandkids instead of watching from the couch. And you walk into your next checkup curious instead of scared.
The one thing I don't leave to chance: Step 3
Steps 1 and 2 are kitchen things. Step 3 isn't. I tried the jar route: powder in my coffee, powder in the juice. I never knew which cinnamon I was really getting, the amount changed every morning, and some days I simply forgot.
You might be thinking: "so I'll just buy Ceylon powder." You could. But you'd be trusting a label you can't check, and measuring spoonfuls every single day to get anywhere near what was studied.
This is simply how I do it now: one CinnaShield† capsule every morning with water.
DNA-verified Ceylon: the species is tested, not assumed
Concentrated 12:1 extract: the maker says one capsule equals about 7,200 mg of raw bark
No coumarin worry: true Ceylon, not cassia
One capsule a day: no measuring, no guessing
It replaces the spoonfuls, not the juice or the walk. Keep doing steps 1 and 2.
On blood sugar medication? Don't stop it. Show your doctor the label first: cinnamon can add to the effect of glucose-lowering medicine.
👇 On the next page you'll see the full label, the bundle options and how the 90-day guarantee works. Look it over, then decide for yourself.
Before you decide, let me be straight with you. This is not for everyone.
If you're looking for something to replace your medication, close this page. This works alongside your doctor, not instead of them.
If you won't give it 30 days, don't start. The right cinnamon is a daily habit, not a one-time fix.
If you'd rather keep the grocery-store jar and hope, this page will just frustrate you.
Two Paths Forward
PATH 1Close this page. Keep sprinkling whatever's in the jar. At the next checkup you hear "let's keep an eye on it" again, and the number is a little higher than last time. You already know how this story goes, because you've lived it.
PATH 2Start the ritual tomorrow morning: the juice, the walk, and one CinnaShield capsule every day, so step 3 isn't a guess. You have 90 days to see how you feel, or get your money back, so the only real risk is doing nothing.
YES, I WANT CINNASHIELD →
Same body. Two very different next 90 days. Keep guessing with the jar, or do the whole ritual, starting tomorrow morning.
"Print this page. Make the juice tomorrow morning, take the walk after dinner, and give it thirty days before you judge it. And if you have a question, leave a comment on any of my videos. I read them all."- Mother Mieko
P.S. If you scrolled straight down here, here's the whole thing in three lines: the juice slows the spike. The walk burns it off. Step three, the right cinnamon every day, is the one almost everyone gets wrong, and it's the one a grocery-store jar can't fix. CinnaShield is DNA-verified Ceylon in one capsule, with 90 days to get your money back. See CinnaShield →
